What are permanent lights?
Gemstone lights are small LEDs set into a custom aluminum track along the underside of your roof edge. The track is painted to match your trim, so in daylight most people never notice it. At night every light can be any colour, or a true warm white, and you control the lot from your phone.

Set it once. It runs all year.
Everything runs from the free Gemstone Lights app. If you'd rather not fuss with it, we set a schedule at the install and you can leave it alone.

Each light uses at most 1 watt, and only in full-brightness white. A typical house has about 150 lights, so the whole roofline draws no more than 150 watts, about two old 75-watt bulbs. Gemstone puts the cost for an average home running 6 hours a night at about $53 a year.

01 How much do Gemstone Lights cost?
It depends on the length of your roofline and which products you choose. We measure your home and give you a free quote with an exact price. Ask us about financing.
02 How long does installation take?
Most homes are done within a day.
03 Will they hold up to a Saskatchewan winter?
Gemstone designed the system in Calgary for Canadian weather. The lights and connections are IP67 waterproof, the lights and cables are UV-rated, and every component has surge protection.
04 Do I need Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi lets you control the lights from anywhere. Without it, the system still works over Bluetooth when you are close by.
05 Is there a monthly fee?
No. The Gemstone Lights app has no monthly fee.
06 What happens if a light stops working?
It is rare, and it is covered by the lifetime warranty on the lights. Each light has its own waterproof connection, so we replace just that one.
07 Can they go on any house?
Gemstone makes custom track for wood and aluminum trim, sloped soffits, homes without a soffit or fascia, and around rain gutters. We will look at your home and tell you which track fits.
08 Do I need a permit?
It depends on where you live. We will let you know if one is needed.
09 Can I install them myself?
No. Gemstone only sells its systems through trained, authorized dealers like us, who do the installation.
